When I was checking out of Publix tonight, I was talking to an old school friend.  I was telling her about how my three kids are not ones to be sick, but over the past three weeks, someone has been ill and home from school almost daily.  She mentioned how this has been the sickest her children have been this year too.
Let’s back track a bit. This morning Cole woke us up at 5:oo and whispered one word at a time, “I- can’t- breathe.”  What? That’s not what a parent wants to hear as an alarm in the morning. We quickly got dressed and rushed out the door to the ER.  After having his vitals taken, a strep test, and a chest x-ray, Cole ended up having just a “really bad sore throat” with a 101.3 fever. Praise God! But this precious child was scared and weak.
After I gave the first period exam (the only final exam for today), I was able to come home and take care of Cole. While home I inputted all my grades and uploaded them to Edline.  Whew, what a relief to get it all done. School is almost over. Yahoo!
Back to present time…Well, when I walked out of Publix, God took “my” breath away.  After feeling a bit stressed emotionally and with the end-of-the-year preparations, He gave me total peace. I looked up to the sky and had to pause, stare, take a deep breath, and say, “Thank You, God, for the peace You give.”
The way the clouds were so calm and colorful gave me an instant sense of peace.   God painted the sky lavender, blue, salmon, yellow, peach, and turquoise. I could tell that the sun must have just set.  That is when the sky becomes the most colorful to me.  As I was cautiously driving, I couldn’t help but gaze upward.  I had to pull over three times to take pictures of His masterpiece for the evening.
When you feel stressed with anything in life, stop and look around.  God will show you something magnificent.
Psalms 19:1, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Thess. 3:16, “Now may the Lord of peace   himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. ”
