a truthful lieI needed a little giggle today.
Today I confiscated a “love note” from a sixth grader.  They crack me up!  Here, look for yourself and please make sure you read it in a dramatic voice, it makes it soooo much better.  Oh, and notice the spelling and punctuation.
I love you with all my hart merry christmas hope you like my present tell me if you like it I don’t care if you lie to me as long as you tell me the truth I don’t want any problems I just want to be happy with you  PS I love you.
What made me laugh was when I read, “I don’t care if you lie to me as long as you tell me the truth”.  What?  Like my youngest son says, “That makes NO sense!”  You’re correct, Cole. A lie is never the truth.

This made me think of the excellent movie we watch last week called “The Good Lie”, starring Reese Witherspoon.  This true story asked the question, “What made this a good lie?”, when discussing Mark Twain’s book Huckleberry Finn.  I encourage you to watch this Christian movie for yourself to find out the answer, and to discover how Huck’s lie is used at the end of the movie of the Sudanese men.
Proverbs 12:19  says, “Lies last only a moment, but the truth lasts forever.”  Hmmm, looks to me that this sixth grade romance will only last a moment.
I pray many blessings and much joy for you! – Stephanie
