You may think this is random, and it is…yet that’s how God created my thought process. So, before I even get started, I want to thank you for joining me throughout these years as I share how God speaks to me through simple or crazy every day life experiences. You have no idea how much you mean to me.  The calls, texts, messages, face-to-face conversations I receive keep me accountable in my walk with Christ, as I strive to encourage you to grow closer to God and desire to live for Him with you “God Goggles” on seeing life with His perspective.

Now, on with today’s random thought:

While on my morning beach walk I’d scan for rolling tarpon or porpoises surfacing the waters, smile and say “Hi” to other beach strollers, and glance at the shells and grass that had been washed ashore. Looking at the shells reminded me of us.  Just like the shells some of us are broken, scarred, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes and colors. I was reminded how God loves each…where we are…as we are…and has a plan for every one of us.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Then, I thought, “If I had to choose a seashell that represented each member of my family, which one would go with each person?” For Hunter I chose a blue shell (2012 entry on Blue shells), Holly a shark’s tooth, Cole an iridescent shell (2006 writing on Cole’s seashell), Tim a sand dollar because of him being a financial advisor, and me…I have no clue! (Any suggestions?)

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

I’m sure I could dig deeper and search the specific meaning of various shells and choose others that would describe each family member, but this was just surface thoughts on my walk. Yet, just like digging deeper into God’s word reveals so much to us, THAT is what I’d like to encourage you to do.  Don’t just scratch the surface in your walk with Christ…dig deep, get to truly and intimately know Jesus Christ, gain knowledge and wisdom, and fall more in love with him every day!

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie

Just for fun…which seashell would you choose to represent you?

This may not be a seashell, but wile looking for a shell photo in my albums, this picture appeared of me in a turtle shell I had purchased for Tim a few years back. Cracks me up!
