Are you like this dog?

We were out of town at the time, when this adorable dog would appear on our Ring cameras. Was it looking for food, shelter, a safe place, or someone to love it? Whatever this dog was looking for, it was lost and alone.

I had notified the neighbors via social media that this dog was at our home at specific times. In hopes that someone would claim this raggedy miniature American Shepherd. One neighbor, Victoria, was persistent in trying to befriend this dog so that she can clean it up and find its owner. Victoria had a blanket and bowls of food and water on her back porch so that the lost dog would feel at home. After a few days, she had success in capturing this skittish, male dog with a blue collar around his neck. The dog had a piece of burnt wire matted into his fur, an injured front paw, and she believes it is going blind. After cleaning the pup up, she drove it to the vet to see if it was microchipped. No chip.

What’s next for the dog? I have no idea, but at this moment, this adorable dog is not raggedy anymore. It is clean and is being loved by compassionate people.

When we returned home, I noticed that our landscape lights were not coming on at the desired time. The electricity had gone off while we were away, and not the timing of lights was off by a few hours. When I woke up the first night home, it was around 4:30 AM, and I noticed light coming from outside. Our landscape lights were lighting up this dark wooded area.

At that moment, it was as if God reminded me that the last time we had seen the lost dog on our security camera was around four in the morning. The question “Was this lost dog finding comfort in going to the light?” came across my mind.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12

Are you like this lost dog…looking for food, shelter, a safe place to land, to be loved, lost and alone?

Friend, stop wandering around in the dark and come to The Light.

In him there was life, and that life was a light for the people of the world. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not defeated it. There was a man named John, who was sent by God. He came to tell people about the light. Through him all people could hear about the light and believe. John was not the light. But he came to tell people about the light. The true light was coming into the world. This is the true light that gives light to all people. John 1:4-9

In Jesus, you will find ALL that you are looking for…

He is the food you need.

Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

The Lord is your shelter.

You are my place of safety, a strong tower that protects me from my enemies. Psalm 61:3

God is your safe place.

You are my place of safety, a strong tower that protects me from my enemies. Proverbs 18:10

Jesus loves you!

But Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and by this God showed how much he loves us. Romans 5:8

Jesus saves you when you are lost.

For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. Luke 19:10

You are not alone. God is with you always.

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. Deuteronomy 31:6

Just like that dog was lost and now is found, there is a new day coming for you too:

“A New Day Is Coming” But there will be an end to the gloom those people suffered. In the past, people thought the land of Zebulun and Naphtali was not important. But later, that land will be honored—the land along the sea, the land east of the Jordan River, and Galilee where people from other nations live. 2 Those people lived in darkness, but they will see a great light. They lived in a place as dark as death, but a great light will shine on them.3 God, you will make the nation grow, and you will make the people happy. They will rejoice in your presence as they do at harvest time. It will be like the joy when people take their share of things they have won in war. 4 That will happen because you will lift the heavy yoke off their shoulders and take away their heavy burden. You will take away the rod that the enemy used to punish your people, as you did when you defeated Midian.5 Every boot that marched in battle and every uniform stained with blood will be destroyed and thrown into the fire. 6 This will happen when the special child is born. God will give us a son who will be responsible for leading the people. His name will be “Wonderful Counselor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace.” 7 His power will continue to grow, and there will be peace without end. This will establish him as the king sitting on David’s throne and ruling his kingdom. He will rule with goodness and justice forever and ever. The strong love that the Lord All-Powerful has for his people will make this happen! Isaiah 9:1-7

Jesus is The Light of the world. I pray that you will believe in Him and let His light shine through you.

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie
