What is it with my three dads? All three (dad, father-in-love, and step-dad) have all very recently dealt with issues of their heart.

I woke up this morning around five o’clock and noticed I had received a text message at 3:02am.  My stepmom was informing me that she had taken my dad to the hospital around 11:30pm, and went into detail about the condition and how they are waiting to see a cardiologist later in the morning. (As I type, tests have been run, dad is resting well and enjoying the attention, BP is slowly coming down, waiting on results from CT scan, and will hopefully go home this afternoon.  Wonderful!)

Yet, while praying for my dad this morning, God reminded me of how there are so many heart issues out there…true matters of the heart…not physically, but spiritually.

Listen up, all my dads are having to change their lifestyle:  eating habits, physical activity, rest time, etc. When you have health issues, you often have to change your lifestyle, and it is for the better.  When you have a spiritual heart issue, you have to change your lifestyle The Best!

Let’s all take a good look at our own heart.  Allow the Great Physician to examine your heart and change your life.

When Jesus heard this, He said to them, “It is the sick people who need a doctor, not those who are healthy.  I did not come to invite good people.  I came to invite sinners.” Mark 2:17

Newsflash, we are all sinners saved by the grace of God. (Ephesians 2:8)

I want to encourage you to reevaluate how you live your life.  Do you live for Christ or for others and self?  Could your heart and mind use some kindness, grace, and forgiveness to others and self?  I pray that you will surrender to The Almighty and give Him your WHOLE heart. Just watch…you will discover so much joy and freedom.  Hallelujah! There will still be issues from time to time, but you’ve got God walking with you.

Psalm 26:2 says, “Examine me, O LORD, and try me; test my mind and my heart.”  It’s time for the Good Doctor (God) to examine you.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.  Proverbs 4:2

Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.  Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track. Proverbs 3:5-6 MSG

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise].  To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers].  And be thankful [to God always]. Colossians 3:15 AMP

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie

Here’s a little diddy I wrote back in 2015, “Do you follow your heart or Me?” .  It’s like a letter from God.
