If you are a non-Christian (or when you were) and someone approaches you and speaks to you about Christ, you may be a little afraid or not quite sure what to expect if you were to believe in Christ.  Thoughts run through your head about how you are living, what “fun” you think you would miss out on, and what a big and scary step is would be to become a Christian.
In Luke 2:9-12 it is written, “Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.” They too were afraid.
After your conversation with the person sharing Christ with you, you decide to go check it out yourself. You seek out a nearby church that teaches and preaches The Word of God, and pursue to discover more about this “Christian” thing you heard about.
Luke 2:15-17:  “When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about. They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. 17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child.”
You were impressed with the joy you felt. You were intrigued by the words you heard from the bible. You saw people, just like you, wanting to know more about this risen Savior and the truth about the bible.
Luke 2:18,All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished”
Elated you go back to you home, community, work, etc. and tell others what you have witnessed.  You think to yourself and then share with others, “It is true! Just like the person had shared with me. God is real and exciting. I need God in my life!”
Luke 2:20:  “The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.
Congratulations! You have just read the simple steps to witnessing.  You hear or feel a tugging on your heart.  You investigate for yourself or simply believe on the spot. You discover how refreshing, exciting, peaceful, etc. being a Christ-follower is and can be.  You have a transformation take place in your life when you ask Jesus into your heart. You share with others what has happened to you. You don’t even have to “know it all” or understand the whole bible, you simply speak from your own experience. Because of you sharing, someone else becomes a Christian and then they spread the Good News too. Woohoo! This is so what God wants us to do.
What are you waiting for? Go share!
Have a blessed day.
