In Matthew 9, we read the account of a desperate father wanting his little boy made well. His child had been possessed by demons and was left dumb, deaf, and violent to himself. The disciples tried to make the boy well, but no luck. When the daddy saw Jesus he said, “If you can do anything, do it. Have a heart and help up!” Then Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.” Then, no sooner were the words out of His mouth than the father cried, “Then I believe. Help me with my doubts!”
Do I personally believe the boy was violently possessed? Yes! Do I believe that Jesus did heal the boy and the demons fled his body? Yes! Do I believe that the dad was in dire need and would say anything? Sure. He totally went on faith. Do I believe that after all was said and done that the dad’s faith was made whole and totally became a definite believer instead of a doubter? You bet!
We read throughout the bible that all things are possible with God. (Luke 1:37, Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27)
Learn from this father’s experience. Believe Him! Don’t doubt Him! Trust in Him! All things ARE possible with God! Be patient, God will do what is right in His time.
