Don't get caught in the web.

Adultery, lying, murder, rape, etc., oh what a tangled web one weaves. The aforementioned list portrays some “big” sins in man’s eyes.  In God’s eye, a sin is a sin. This list outlines what happened in 2 Samuel 12 and 13 today. (Who said the bible was boring? There is more drama than I can handle in some parts.)
We read how one sin led to another and another.  The adultery, lying, murder, and rape didn’t just affect the one who committed the wrong, but plenty of others around the committer.
When David, known as a man after God’s own heart, realized that he was a sinner, he confessed and noted that he had sinned against God. Was respect lost for him? Yes.  Did David have to pay a price for his sin? Big time. Will God show mercy? Absolutely.
I know, I know, you’ve hear me say this before, but it is so true, The Word says so.
·         We will reap what we sow. Galatians 6:7-8 (ERV), “If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant.  If you live to satisfy your sinful self, the harvest you will get from that will be eternal death. But if you live to please the Spirit, your harvest from the Spirit will be eternal life.”
·         Confess and repent of you sin.  1 John 1:9 (ERV), But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done.”
·         God will show mercy. Isaiah 30:18, “Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.”
·         Turn from you ways and live for God. Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (I LOVE this song!
