This morning I unplugged my phone and the date February 4 appeared on my screen in a large font.  I thought to myself, “Ten more days until Valentine’s Day.”  I actually resorted back to my second grade teaching days and also thought about, “Add a one to the tens place and the four in the ones…..” (The things that go through my mind bamboozle me sometimes. J)
Thoughts of people I love, things I love, others who may have lost a loved one, and on and on.  Then, I thought about “Why not let everyday be a Valentine’s Day to God.  Don’t wait until February 14th.  We should show His love all the time.”
I remember telling Holly one time, “You don’t need a boyfriend to enjoy Valentine’s Day.  Let that day be just another day to share God’s love with others.”  God is love!
In Matthew 22:34-40 the Greatest Commandment was mentioned:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
My favorite command!  You know, I was thinking, if you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, you will discover that everything else will fall into place just fine because you have your priorities in the right place.
God loves you so much!
1 John 4:9-12 says, “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.”
I don’t just THINK God loves you, I KNOW He loves you!
Blessings to you!
