Sometimes it’s just so hard to keep hope, positivity, confidence in the Lord, or whatever you want to call it.  When you are in a season of trials that are coming at you from all directions, and that season seems to be with you for an extraordinary amount of time (could be years), it’s easy to think, “Lord, can you see me here?  I’m drowning.”  You know you are to call out to Him for help.  You tell Him, “Here I am!  Please help me!” and His response is not coming as quickly as you would like it to, it can be, and is, so difficult, frustrating, and disheartening.
Recently I was speaking with a precious friend who is smack dab in the middle of one of these seasons.  She’s not going through this time alone either; one of her children is having “a season” as well.  She loves the Lord with all her heart.  She has thrown up her hands and surrendered to Him. But even when she knows Who is in control and that it will all work out for God’s glory in the end, the daily struggles in life are H-A-R-D.
When I read Psalm 31:23-24, I couldn’t help but think of my friend this morning and say more prayers for her. God’s word says,

  • “Love the Lord, all his faithful people!
The Lord preserves those who are true to him,
but the proud he pays back in full.
24 Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord.”

The Message translation reads verse 24 as:

  • “Be brave. Be strong. Don’t give up.
Expect God to get here soon.”

Now there’s a saying we can all post on our mirrors, refrigerators, and bumper stickers.  Better yet, keep it in our minds, believe it, and believe Him.
It may come naturally for many of us, and my friend included, to know the right words to say to God, but we must expect God to see us through it all.  He will!
Love Him with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Deuteronomy 6:5)
Just know…He will carry you.
Blessings to you.
