Yesterday I began my exercise routine, again. This morning during my Day 2 workout, I decided that I’d do a quick journal entry each day about my success and/or struggle. I need the accountability, and maybe you do too. Maybe you are already exercising and need a little boost or bible verse to keep you going. Or just maybe I’ll encourage you to begin a routine.
Like the scripture from yesterday’s journal entry instructed us, our physical health is important, but our spiritual health is vital.
I will give a brief update on my physical training, and a bible verse or two to keep both you and me going on this journey.
If you have a testimony you’d like to share that deals with exercising the body and spirit, I’d love for you to comment any time. Be a Barnabas.
Day 2:
Day 1’s routine was titled, “Core Cardio” and you know it kicked my tail. Today was called “Speed 2.0”. When I read the title I was like, “Are you kidding me? I had to modify a lot yesterday. I can’t imagine today’s routine.”
Well, all was well. I didn’t even have to push pause the DVD to take a break.
Today focused on stretching, stability, and sweat. I did modify some, but with each movement I kept my tummy in, back straight, and went deep. It amazes me how one slight “hips forward” or “tuck your tummy in” makes such a big difference.
This made me think about how if/when we make the slightest adjustment in our time with God, what a big difference it makes in our lives.
After the two-minute cool down period, I lay on the floor and stretched a bit more. During that time I had calm conversation time with God (prayer).
In 1 Corinthians 9:27 Paul says, “I discipline my body and keep it under control.” We must do the same with our body and spirit. When we are disciplining ourselves, we get strong.
Be strong! Stay strong in the Lord! “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10.
