Day 8 of 2020
Genesis 18:16-19:38
*These verses disgust me, yet also challenge me.  The rampant sin taking place was sad and sickening. Homosexuality, incest, lust, and actions taken in desperate situations were completely evident and broke the Lord’s heart. Yet, I’m challenged to earnestly pray for others’ salvation, like Abraham pleaded for God save any righteous person in the perverse land. How different is our world today? (tears in my eyes)
*Question…in verse 17 of chapter 18, who was the Lord talking to? His angels?
*In 19:6-11, Lot just thought he was protecting his visitors, when all along they were protecting him.
*We often hesitate and come up with excuses, much like Lot did, but we need to also allow his hesitate decisions to be an example to encourage us to fiercely pursue and  trust in God’s path for our lives and not our own route. Have faith in Him. Say yes to God.
Mathew 6:25-7:14
*”Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” NOPE.
*God will take care of all our needs.
*I like how verse 32 uses the word dominate in my NLT (New Living Translation).  It reads, “These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs.  This makes me think about what dominates my thoughts. I so desire to fill my mind with Christ each day, all day.
*Do.  Not. Judge.  That’s for God to do.
*Never give up…especially on God’s plan. It is good…real good.
Psalm 8:1-9
*We need to speak up for Truth.  Praising God will block out the opposition of others.
*Look up.  Look up to God.  When you see the stars in the sky, the setting of the sun, the beauty of His creations on a daily basis…remember how much God loves you, and how you are His greatest masterpiece.  He thinks you are pretty special.
Proverbs 2:6-15
*Characteristics I pray to be found in me: wise, knowledgeable, understanding, common sense, honest, walks with integrity, and faithful.  To God be all the glory. May my heart be filled with joy. Thank you, God, for being my safe place to run to.
Thank you! Thanks again for joining me on this journey.  Many of you text or speak to me or privately let me know that you are reading God’s word right along with me. That’s thrills my soul, and I know it is putting a smile on God’s face. I pray that we will continue to be encouragement for each other as we grow in Christ.  I know that your sweet comments keep me accountable and inspire me to keep reading and journaling.
To God be ALL the glory!
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
