While on the phone, I received a warning of a low battery and a suggestion of “low power mode”.

When I saw this notification pop up, I thought, “I wish I had a warning when my body’s low on battery.” Then, I thought again and said, “I do.”

According to my search engine, Low power mode reduces the amount of juice your device needs, so it’s not quite running on all cylinders. The latter part of the sentence cracked me up. “Not quite running on all cylinders.” Yep, been there, done that.

Warning. Warning. Warning.

When I’m hungry, my stomach growls.

When I’m sleepy, my eyes begin to softly close.

When I stub my toe, the nerves in my body rush to tell the brain that there is an injury and I feel pain.

When I am about to participate in something that I know is wrong, the Holy Spirit within me gives me a swift nudge so that I can operate on all cylinders and make the right decision.

Friend, when you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have a personal relationship with Him, you have the Holy Spirit living within you. I often call it my “God conscientious”. And hallelujah for it! The Holy Spirit is your live-in warning mode.

But the Helper will teach you everything and cause you to remember all that I told you. This Helper is the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name. John 14:26 ERV

“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t handle them now. But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won’t draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. He will honor me; he will take from me and deliver it to you. Everything the Father has is also mine. That is why I’ve said, ‘He takes from me and delivers to you.’ John 16:12 MSG

So I tell you, live the way the Spirit leads you. Then you will not do the evil things your sinful self wants. The sinful self wants what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is against the sinful self. They are always fighting against each other, so that you don’t do what you really want to do. But if you let the Spirit lead you, you are not under law. Galatians 5:16-18 ERV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well. Galatians 5:22-23,25 NASB
