Troubles and trials will come our way (John 16:33). When those times arise, we often find ourselves crying out to Jesus. I want to encourage you to not just call on Him when you feel frantic, yet make conversing with God a daily…hourly…every moment type of habit.

I am so grateful that I have God’s word to turn to. No matter what the situation is that I’m going through, the bible brings such comfort and confidence to me. Y’all, God’s truths can fill you with so much hope, confidence, joy, and so much more. I pray that you will be able to turn to His powerful words and allow your mind and body to be restored and overcome with His goodness and promises.

Recently I posted a plea for prayer on my social media pages (see below). This morning, God awakened me early to sit for a bit and spend time with Him. The scriptures He led me to comfort my soul and put a smile on my face.

Below are four of those scriptures that I turned into a prayer. May you find comfort and confidence as well as you read His words and my penned prayers.

“This is what the Lord says: You have said, ‘This is a desolate land where people and animals have all disappeared.’ Yet in the empty streets of Jerusalem and Judah’s other towns, there will be heard once more the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the Lord. They will sing, ‘Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures forever!’ For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord. Jeremiah 33:1-11

Prayer:

Lord, I thank You for Your promises. I cling to Your words, and am filled with hope. You fill us with encouragement, joy, and laughter. You are so good. Thank You for restoration. Restore those feeling desolate with desire of confident hope. Replace disheartenment with delight. I bring my songs of praise to You, Lord, The One who brings hope, healing, joy, and laughter. Thank You for putting a smile on my face. May I do the same for You. Amen.

Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. Psalm 28:6-7

Prayer:

Lord, I praise You! When I cry out to You, You hear me. Thank You for being my strength and shield, for You, precious Lord, make me stable and secure. I do trust You with all of my heart. That trust in You helps me with each waking moment, and fills me with undeniable joy. I love You, Lord. Amen

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for being my first call, my 911. You are always here with me, being a safe haven in times of trouble. You fill me with vigor to get through each step during tough times. Let me be consumed with Your strength, Lord, as I need holding and lifted up when I am weak. Thank You for loving me. I love you. Amen.

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:4-9

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, these verses are so full of Your goodness. I hold on to the promise that You are coming back again. Hallelujah! Until that day comes, help me to always be filled with joy in You. Troubles and trials will come my way, Lord, but You…You give me peace when my mind races with unrest. Thank You for the reminder that it is Your peace that will, not might, but will guard my heart and mind because I live in You. Fix my eyes and thoughts on You, Lord. Help me to walk the walk with You, giving your praise in each step, because You alone are worthy. Thank You, again, for being with me always and filling me with peace. I love You, Lord. Amen.

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie

Facebook post from 10/9/25:

This is a pic of my brothers and sister-in-loves. Jan and Mike are the fifth and sixth from the left. Thanks for praying for them during this season. God’s got this!

Ok. There’s no sugar-coating this because I need ALL y’all to be prayers warriors.
For the past three weeks, some of you have been on the praying journey with my me for my sister-in-love, Jan (Nappier) Parker. Now is the time for an army of prayer warriors to be on their knees lifting up Mike, Jan, Jake, and Ben.
Today’s text from Jan is a confirmation and a plan of action to move forward. Jan is tough, positive, and ready to be an overcomer. To God be ALL the glory. Please add Jan to all prayer lists you have. Thanks!
From Jan:
“Just returned home from the hospital. Preliminary biopsy report shows adenocarcinoma- pancreatic cancer. Also have hydronephrosis (swelling of the kidney- not draining properly) probably due to the pelvic mass pushing on the ureters. The pelvic mass is a different diagnosis— Low Grade Mucinous Neoplasm. So.. quite challenging. They are asking me to return on Monday to put in a port for chemotherapy which we will start as soon as I meet with a local oncologist who will administer that here locally. Hopefully I can get an appointment quickly with them. The game plan as of now is to do chemo first in order to shrink everything before doing surgery to remove the tumors. Needless to say we must keep praying. Also pray no fevers or complications.”
Will you join me in praying and believing?
May this matter become a miracle, test a testimony, suffering into a sweet song.
Like my brother Mike says, “Romans 15:13 is our rally cry!”
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
