Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:23

As I stepped through my front door, I could feel the goosebumps well up on my skin. I’m so excited for this breath of coolness that has come our way. As I’m standing there in my silence, I could hear and observe my surroundings as crisp as the morning air.

The cows crunching on the grass, a flock of doves perch up the powerline and some even grazing on the corn left for them along the drive. The birds squawking in the pines and smaller birds chirping in the oaks. I could faintly hear the trucks and cars traveling on the nearby paved road. The sun rays began to peep through the pines, as the sky was becoming more blue. I lifted my eyes to the heavens and thanked God for His creation, the inventions of the conveniences of our lives, the weather, the ability to use my senses to enjoy the sights and sounds of it all.

When I sat to type about His greatness in what I observed, I looked out my back window and saw a family of female deer. The young fawn reminded me of when our dog, Maui, gets the zoomies. It was running in circles as the three older deer were nibbling on their breakfast. This scene made me laugh, and gave me more to be thankful to God for.

Your morning scene may look and sound different from mine, but may I encourage you to stop, close your eyes to allow the bustling of the day make you appreciate this moment. Open your eyes to soak in all of God’s glorious creation. See the good and newness in each thing your eyes settle upon. Praise Him for life and His mercies that He gives each morning. Seek and find the ray of hope that the Lord presents to you today.

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie
