I wasn’t searching for it, but there it was. And…not only one, but sixteen!
Have you heard the expression, “You’ll find it when you least expect it”? Those words seem to hold true each time I find a penny in my pathway. Whenever this copper-plated zinc object appears on the ground, I repeat the inscription you see above President Abraham Lincoln’s bust, “In God we trust”, and believe it with all my heart.
While walking through the parking lot, I glanced down and not only found a penny, but a nickel and dime as well. As I stashed them away in my purse, I repeated the inscription sixteen times. With each phrase verbalized, my smile widened, peace enveloped me, and a newfound confidence surged within. If anyone spotted me, they might have thought I was a bit eccentric, talking to myself—though that wouldn’t be the first time!
In today’s world, people are often on a quest for meaning—searching for love, purpose, freedom, belonging, empowerment, or understanding. It’s a vast terrain to navigate, but there’s a beacon of certainty to guide you.
Did you know over 15,000 self-help books hit the shelves every year? I am quite sure that for whatever you are searching for in life, there is a book that will guide you.
If your heart yearns for truth, loyalty, honesty, and unwavering love, look no further than the Bible.
In Psalm 33:4-5 we read,
For the word of the Lord is right, and all His work is done in faithfulness.
He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
These words resonate deeply. The Bible, God’s breath captured in ink, holds the answers to your questions. If you read it daily, pray with intention, and lay your desires at His feet, believing in Him, you’ll uncover what—or Who—you’ve been longing for. Though His timing might not align with ours, rest assured, the Lord provides. His love for you is boundless, and He eagerly seeks a relationship with you. When you seek Him wholeheartedly (as emphasized in Deuteronomy 6:5, Mark 12:30, Matthew 22:37, and Luke 10:27), you will encounter Him and so much more. Your eyes will be opened to the abundant goodness of the Lord woven throughout your daily life.
I want to encourage you to put on your God Goggles. Dedicate time to read the Bible each day, and witness all that you’ve been searching for unfold before you in Him.
Blessings to you and yours,
Stephanie
