What do you notice when you see the photo of my plant?

I asked my daughter this question, and she said, “A dead plant.”

Last year, we transformed our screened porch into a beautiful dining room—a project I absolutely love! During the renovation, I temporarily moved my potted peace lily around the corner of the house and forgot about it. As the seasons changed, the elements took their toll on the plant. When January 2026 brought harsh, freezing temperatures, my poor peace lily succumbed to the frost.

After the freeze, I walked by the frostbitten plant and smiled. Yes, smiled! Instead of seeing the plant as not surviving, I perceived it as a symbol of hope.

Do you find yourself needing a fresh perspective on things that seem bleak?

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31

I encourage you to seek out the positive, the beneficial, the divine. Put on your “God Goggles” and embrace hope.

“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!” Psalms 42:11

No matter what challenges you face, turn to the Lord and trust that He has great plans in store for you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie
