What if the thing you’re looking for today isn’t another scroll, another show, another distraction, or another answer from the world?

What if what your heart truly needs is already waiting for you between the pages of your Bible?

Do you long for more grace?

More peace?

A deeper knowledge of God?

Second Peter 1:2 offers this beautiful prayer:

“May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.”

Notice the connection: as we grow in our knowledge of God, we experience more of His grace and peace.

God invites us to know Him—not just know about Him. And one of the primary ways He reveals Himself to us is through His Word.

And where do we begin?

Every day, something is competing for our attention.

We scroll through social media. We watch one more episode. We check the news. We listen to podcasts. We read books. We fill the quiet moments with noise.

But when was the last time you simply sat with God and listened?

The Bible is more than another book on your nightstand. It is God’s Word—truth preserved for us so that we can know Him, hear His heart, discover His promises, and allow His truth to transform our lives.

So instead of reaching for your phone first thing tomorrow morning, reach for your Bible.

Instead of ending the day with one more episode, open Scripture.

You don’t need to read for hours. Start with a chapter. Read slowly. Ask God to open your eyes to what He wants you to see. Pause when a verse speaks to your heart. Write it down. Pray over it. Ask yourself how you can live it out.

Because the goal isn’t simply to read God’s Word.

As you read 2 Peter 1:2, make it personal. Turn its words into your own prayer:

Dear Lord,

Thank You for Your Word, breathed by You and preserved in the pages of Scripture. Thank You for giving me a way to know You more deeply and draw closer to You.

Lord, give me more grace and peace as I grow in my knowledge of You. Open my eyes so that I may see the truth and goodness You have for me in Your Word.

Give me a heart that longs to hear from You. Help me meditate on Your Word day and night. Give me wisdom to understand it, courage to obey it, and faith to apply it to my everyday life.

Let Your Word renew my mind, strengthen my faith, calm my heart, and transform my life.

May I never simply read Your Word and walk away unchanged. Help me live what I learn and become more like You each day.

Amen.

Go grow!

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie
