The time has come to bid farewell to the hunting camp for the year.

Throughout the morning I was packing, purging, and cleaning. All our belongings were gathering on the table before we took them to the truck. I was aware of the cold weather this morning (feels like temp of 25°F), but I definitely wasn’t prepared. When I opened the backdoor, the coolness felt refreshing and chilly. It wasn’t until I stepped off the porch and into the open, away from the protection of the building, that I felt the wind blow and the cold air pierced through my clothing and onto my skin. If only I had prepared by wearing the proper clothing.

This reminded me of how each day we may feel that we are prepared for the day, yet the enemy is just as ready. How can we protect ourselves? Put on the full armor of God each day. In John 10:10, we are told that the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. His schemes are in full force daily to try to cause havoc in your life. So, be aware, put on those shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the Spirit.

There is the last part of John 10:10 that says that the Lord comes to give life and give it abundantly. Between preparing yourself by wearing His armor and living a full life, I think I’ll bundle up with God.

Remember…Satan aims to kill, not chill.

Blessings to you and yours,

Stephanie

Our trip was complete with a delicious meal at Jonah’s in Thomasville, GA.

The Whole Armor of God

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:10-18
