This morning during my “Walk through the Bible” reading, I couldn’t get my mind off of my sweet friend. Within the past 3-4 years she has lost her husband, an uncle who was like a second father, and now that same uncle’s daughter. My heart and prayers go out to her and her family during this time of mourning.
When we lose someone we love (especially to those who are young), it is heart-wrenching. The one hope and assurance that keeps us going is knowing that one day we will see them again (if all are Christians) in heaven.
My sweet friend, and especially her aunt (whom used to be my elementary school principal), probably feel like they need some rescuing. Their spirit is saddened. Their soul feels anguished. This is where God showed me the following verses in Psalms 31:
5 I entrust my spirit into Your hand. Rescue me, LORD, for you are a faithful God.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul.

I pray that Vicki and the entire family will find comfort in knowing that God is faithful. He loves and cares for them deeply, and has seen their troubles. Lord, help them to have sweet memories of their loved one and rejoice in knowing that they will be together again. Until then, let them feel Your loving arms around them.  Give them strength and courage to wake up each day and know that You are with them. Amen.
