Are you afraid of the dark?
I remember when I was young I had to have the bathroom light on and my door open.  My brothers probably didn’t appreciate a glow in the hallway, but it made me feel safe.
The older I got, my fear of the dark turned into a different meaning.  My darkness was more of the unconfessed sin in my life.  That unconfessed sin was masked with lies.  That unconfessed sin gave me a dark feeling inside.  A feeling of sadness, guilt, and shame would eat away at me.
Well, when I finally got right and laid it all on the line with God, my darkness began to disappear and His light started to shine within me.
Psalm 27:1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”  With Christ in my heart, He is the light that I need.
Should you be afraid of the dark? Not if you know to know that God is on your side. When you feel that you’re in a dark place in your life, just flip on the switch and let His light shine in and through you.
Blessing to you.
