Hunter with our new family member on our way to her new home.

Back in January I wrote “It’s about dog-gone-time”.  We just thought we were getting a new dog.  After the vet made its visit we discovered that the dog had more medical issues than our family was ready to take on.  When I looked back to read what I had written, I noticed the bible verse at the bottom of the journal entry, Philippians 4:6, “Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have.” I must have had some apprehension at that time.  But now…it’s different.

Yes, I didn’t want to write until it truly was official, but we now have a new edition to our family!  Meet “the dog with no name yet”.
She grew up in Alabama.  My son’s girlfriend (who has a huge heart for animals) posted this dog’s picture on her Facebook wall.  I immediately liked it.  After asking “Daddy Tim”, searching about this type of dog’s temperament, and making a phone call, we drove over to Clearwater beach area and brought home our adorable, shy, and sweet dog.  As Elvis Presley’s song goes, “It ain’t nothin’ but a hound dog…”, the difference is, this dog doesn’t cry all the time.  She hasn’t even made a peep yet.
I feel no apprehension with this sweetie, just joy.  Seeing the kids faces light up and Cole taking her for a run around the block was just priceless.
This dog has grown up in n Alabama shelter. Her bio read that she is shy, especially around men, but is willing to warm up to everyone. In the final paragraph of her bio it says, “She is really coming out of her shell and would love to meet her “furever” family soon.”
I will never forget a story that Beth Moore told in one of her bible study videos about when she received this little boy his head wasn’t proportional and that was a sign of someone that hasn’t been held and shown sweet affection.  When I saw how timid this dog was I thought again about her statement. I just kept thinking how I wanted to just hold her and let her feel loved.
I’m thinking that with our family, she will be out of her shell before we know it.
Welcome to your “furever” family.  Now we just need to give her a name.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
