We arrive a little late to the concert (dinner was necessary), but we were escorted to an empty row of seats when we arrive. Yes, reserved, thank you.
“We have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.” 1 Peter 1:4
Last night I felt like I got a small glimpse of what Heaven will be like.
You see, a dear friend of mine, Billie Jo, and I went to see Hillsong. I would say they are a Christian music group, but they are so much more. The best way to describe Hillsong United is as a world traveling church from Australia. And last evening was “heavenly” experience.
In Revelation 22:3 we read, “No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and His servants will worship Him.” Worship is exactly what we did last night. No matter the denomination, race, socioeconomic status, past sins, etc., we will be up there WORSHIPPING our Lord and Savior.
When I read 1 Peter 1:4 in The Message translation, verse 3-5 were all clumped together. Want to get excited about Heaven? Do you want to know why we can have a reservation in Paradise? Check this out:
“What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have Him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole.”
Oh, glory! Look at this again, “Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven.” He died for you! All you have to do is trust in Him and invite Jesus into your life. When you sincerely have trusted Christ into your heart, He’s got a place waiting for you in Heaven.
