I just love him. <3

Getting overcome by God’s presence is such a powerful and personal experience for me.
Most Sunday mornings if you were to look at this conservative Baptist born and bred girl during praise and worship time through music, you would think you’d need to tell my man, “Hold her back, Tim. She’s about to start dancing in the aisle.”
Okay, maybe not totally dance in the aisle, but boy oh boy, does my body start to move and hands get lifted high. For me, praise and worship time isn’t just about the songs, but it’s what God reveals to me through them.  It’s between Him and me, not anyone else around me.
Now, don’t judge me here (I’m sure I’m not alone…especially if you’ve heard me sing), but there have been singers whom when they were using the talent the God gave them, their vocal sound just wasn’t pleasing to “my taste”. That’s when I have to remind myself that it is not the singer I’m admiring, it’s the message behind them, and the God Almighty whom they are singing about. I have to pray to God to open my eyes and ears to what He desires for me to see and hear through the song. And you know what? He does.
The majority of the time though, the vocal sound and the message just…whew…electrify me. (Praise God I go to a church where we have talented singers…in my opinion.)
This past Sunday was no different. One of the singers (I believe it was Kerry Mullis…Love. Her. Voice!) sang a song that I didn’t recall hearing before. As with each new song our church sings I am still and focused. My body isn’t to the “dancing in the aisle” point yet, and my concentration is on the words which are being caroled. Then, all of a sudden a couple of stanzas just spoke to me. I was overcome by the Holy Spirit within me. Yep, that’s right, I’ve got spirit…The Holy Spirit!
Read these words and allow them to marinate in your thoughts for a minute. Even click on this link to hear the Christian singer, Meredith Andrews, perform this song “Spirit of the Living God”.

Cause when You speak, when You move

When YOU do what only You can do

It changes us, it changes

What we see and what we seek

When You come in the room

When You do what only YOU can do

It changes us, it changes

What we see and what we seek You’re changing everything

Listen, WE can’t change on our own. WE cannot make SOMEONE else change. Only GOD changes you or that someone else.
When we permit God to do His work within us, our focus in life is altered to what really matters…our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Whether you are a “dancing in the aisle” kinda person, or a “be still and know that He is God” worshipper, God sees what is in you. I pray that He is smiling down and watching His Holy Spirit radiate from you. Be overcome by His presence!
(Oh, this reminds me of another song that I can “get my Jesus” on: You know I LOVE Francesca Battistelli. Click here  to listen to her sing “Holy Spirit”. Get your worship on and allow God to astound you.
I pray you have a wonderful day.
Always enjoy soaking up The Son in the sun. Love you, Stephanie.
