I picture a young adult, not a child, putting their fingers in their ears and saying “lalalalalala”. They just don’t want to hear it. They are beaten, broken down, just plain ole tired of life’s situations that have been recently dealt to them. You may have a good plan for them, but they just want to have a pity party. Have you been there yourself? I have.  It didn’t last long until I realized, “This is not working for me.” God had a plan for Moses and the Israelites, “but they (the Israelites) refused to listen to Moses because of their impatience and anguish of spirit and because of their cruel bondage.” Genesis 6:9. Look up from the pit you’re in and reach out. God does have a plan for you. Whether you are crawling out of the hole you’re in in order to breathe or you feel like you just keep getting deeper into it, like the old Oak Ridge Boys song, “Dig a little deeper in the well boys dig a little deeper in the well. If you want a drink of water you’ve gotta dig a little deeper in the well.” Yes, life is rough sometimes, but don’t grow weary and tune out God’s word. He is working on you. So don’t be afraid to get a little muddy, just remember there is cool and refreshing water in the end. Have a great day, and don’t be a “stick-n-the-mud”.
