Who wants to live in pain, suffering, agony, and torment for the rest of their life? Not me! I have a feeling that you don’t either. I’m not talking about here on earth (although we would prefer not to).  I’m talking about “the rest of your life”, “life after death”.
Luke 16:19-31 is the story of the rich man and Lazarus.  Verses 27-28 says, “The rich man said, ‘Then please, father Abraham, send Lazarus to my father’s house on earth.  I have five brothers. He could warn my brothers so that they will not come to this place of pain.’ You see, Lazarus was sitting in father Abraham’s lap in a place of peace. The rich man was is a place of pain.
In verse 30, after Abraham told the rich man that his brothers can read what Moses and the Prophets wrote, “The rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham! But if someone came to them from the dead, then they would decide to change their lives.’
Okay, this sounds like a no brainer to me. You have one person who is living gloriously in heaven where there is no pain or suffering, and another who is begging for even just a finger dip in water to cool his tongue because I am in anguish in these flames.” (v. 24).  Do you choose Heaven or Hell?
I’m sure we all unfortunately know someone who was not a Christian when they died. That just totally breaks my heart!  If they could come back and tell us how they are living their life after death, they would encourage, no…probably beg you, to change your life and live for Christ.
Stand the rich man who is in misery beside Lazarus who is happy and satisfied.  If you had to choose to be on a team or have one as a friend, which side would you choose? I’m all about happiness.
Please choose today to live your “life after death” in heaven.
You know, Jesus did rise from the dead and is still alive today.  He went through Hell to get back to you.  He died for you so that you can live forever with Him in heaven. Change your ways now and live for God.
Have a blessed day. I’m praying for you.
