Are you a “fair-weathered fan”?
When a team, person, or cause someone is supporting starts to lose its position, some people stop supporting their team and start cheering on the more popular team or person.  That is a fair-weathered fan.
Are you that way with your relationship with God?  You only want to support Him when things are going well in your life? Unfortunately, that’s how some people treat their bond with God.
You see it several times throughout the bible.  This morning I saw samples of “fair-weatheredness” in the book of Judges with the story of Jephthah, and again in Luke when Peter denied Christ three times before the rooster crowed.
In Proverbs 13:6a it says, “A God-loyal life keeps you on track;”
Stay loyal to God.  Don’t treat Him like a “fair-weathered fan”.  Stick with Him through the good and bad times in life.  Your relationship with God is the greatest relationship that you will EVER have!
1 Corinthians 16:13-14:  “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
Proverbs 17:17: “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
Matthew 6:24: “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.”
“The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty.”
