Today is National Day of Prayer here in The United States of America.   It is my prayer for us, no matter what country you are from, to cry out to God.  Like David, in the book of Psalms, does so eloquently, we need to call out to our Savior.  David is a great example of one who acknowledges his own sin, counts his blessings, is specific with God in his requests, tells God how he really feels, and listens to God’s answer.
Get real with God.
When David started off in this morning’s readings in Psalm 55, he said, “God, hear my prayer. Don’t ignore my cry for help.  Please listen and answer me. Let me speak to you and tell you what upsets me.” Go for it.  Cry out to the One True God and tell Him what upsets you.  Don’t only tell Him that, but thank Him for your many blessings.  Pray for others.  Pray for your enemies.  Pray for each decision you make.  Pray for how you are going to treat that difficult person today.  Pray that you will be a blessing to others.  Pray for God to give you opportunities to share his love with others.  Pray for those who do not know Christ as their Savior and how you can be used as an instrument for God.  Pray for our military and government.  Pray for wisdom and guidance.
1 Thessalonians 15:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 6:18, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
Matthew 6:9-13(KJV) “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.”
1 Timothy 2:1-2, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
James 5:16Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
When I woke up this morning Jackie Velasquez song, “On My Knees” was on my mind and heart.  Listen and pray, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gArr7gyiMBY.
I am praying for YOU today.
Blessing to you all.

2012 NATIONAL PRAYER

Heavenly Father,

Every good gift and perfect gift comes from You. You are a faithful God and Your mercy endures forever.

You have promised to bless the nation that trusts in You. Our currency proclaims “In God We Trust,” but in our culture we are far from You.

In the words of the prophet Daniel, “We have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.”

We come before You once more, seeking Your forgiveness and mercy. You, O God, are our only hope… Hear our prayer and, for Your honor’s sake, shine Your face upon this nation.

Give our leaders the desire to seek Your wisdom and the courage to follow Your guidance… and watch over the men and women of our armed forces as they sacrifice for the cause of freedom.

We give You thanks for all You have done for us, and we earnestly pray that You will help us become, once again, a nation whose God is the Lord.

In the name of Your Son, and our Savior, we pray this prayer.

Amen
