Another fantastic day in God’s word!  Can I be your Barnabas right now and encourage you to go read the scriptures in “Walking in the Word” now? Oh please!
When I read Romans 8:26-9:5 I wanted to do a little “happy dance”. I did, in my mind (My body was too tired.  Late night.  Early morning.).  There are verses in there that have stuck in my mind for years.  I remember as a little child hearing these words, and then growing up learning to believe in them and apply them.
Here are a few of examples:

  • Verse 28, “We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him.”
  • Verse 31, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
  • Verse 35 and 37, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?”, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Now tell me you haven’t heard of those.  Awesome!
This year at my school we are focusing on superheroes.  We had to wear a costume, t-shirt, or read/white/and blue colors on our first day back.  I had ordered a t-shirt that told who my superhero is. I was pretty sure that I had typed to have it shipped down to the Keys where we were vacationing because I wanted to make sure I had it ready to wear on that Monday back.  (Our mail at home was being held until that Monday afternoon, so that would be too late.)  Well, I was bummed that I hadn’t received it on time.  But who says that our timing is God’s timing anyhow, right?  To my surprise, it wasn’t delivered to the Keys.  When we received all our mail on Monday afternoon, there was my package from http://www.dirtcheapchristianwear.com/.  Woohoo! I was so excited! (I really did do a “happy dance” that afternoon.) So on Tuesday, I proudly wore my t-shirt.  And might I add…I had lots of positive feedback regarding it too. Yes!
Now, this morning in Romans 8:37-39 it made me think about Jesus being my superhero.  It reads:
“But in all these troubles we have complete victory through God, who has shown his love for us. Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love—not death, life, angels, or ruling spirits. I am sure that nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us or nothing below us—nothing in the whole created world—will ever be able to separate us from the love God has shown us in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
He is the original Super Glue! When we are stuck on Christ, and He in us, nothing can come between us.  My God has super strength powers that would put Superman to shame.  Did you really read that list?  Not life, life, angels, nor demons can separate us from the love of Christ.  Oh, and that’s not all….neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Okay, now the Lionel Richey song just popped into my head, “Stuck on You”.  Yikes!  Everybody now…
I’m stuck on you.  I’ve got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can’t lose.  Guess I’m on my way.
Needed a friend.  And the way I feel now I guess I’ll be with you ’til the end.  Guess I’m on my way.  I’m mighty glad you stayed”

Now wasn’t that fun? Let’s turn this into a God-thing:  Give your heart to Christ and get stuck on Him and He on you.  Feel the feeling down deep in your soul.  That feeling is God’s love.  Don’t lose it!  Where are you going now?  Heaven.  I’m on my way to Heaven. Do you need a friend?  Jesus is always there and is the best BFF ever!  Even though we may stray, He was always there and never left you.  He stayed.  Stay close to Him.
Who’s your superhero?  If I was a bettin’ woman, mine will win every time.  Hands down!
Go get “stuck on God”!
Blessings to you.
