When I read 1 Corinthians 15:35-58 today, I got excited thinking about Jesus coming back.  Did you know that when He returns “It will only take the time of a second. We will be changed as quickly as an eye blinks.” (verse 52)  Go ahead and blink your eye.  BAM! You’d already be gone from this earth. (Praise, Jesus!)  That was fast.  And the main thing is… we have no idea when that day will happen.  It could be today.  Or even right now. BAM!  Are you ready?  I know I’ve made my reservation. And when that speed train comes, this girl is “Glory Bound”.

The body that is “planted” in the grave will ruin and decay, but.....

Oh, but get this…this earthly body that you and I have, the one that gets wrinkled, banged up and bruised, sick, weak, probably a few pounds extra, etc., will be no more.  That’s right, you and I are like dead seeds wondering around.  But what happens to seeds that are planted and nurtured?  They change and become something beautiful in its own way. What happens to the seed that is not planted and is just a seed?  It stays dead.  Verses 37 and 38 say, “There is no visual likeness between seed and plant. You could never guess what a tomato would look like by looking at a tomato seed. What we plant in the soil and what grows out of it don’t look anything alike. The dead body that we bury in the ground and the resurrection body that comes from it will be dramatically different.” (The Message)  Woohoo! This earthly body will be changed.  Read verses 43 and 44:  “When the body is “planted,” it is without honor. But when it is raised, it will be great and glorious. When the body is “planted,” it is weak. But when it is raised, it will be full of power. 44 The body that is “planted” is a physical body. When it is raised, it will be a spiritual body.” I can’t wait!

...it will be raised to a life that cannot be destroyed." 1 Corinthians 15:42

Grab hold of this opportunity to have a new life.  You can have a new life in Christ here on earth, and then you will have an everlasting life in heaven when this life ends.  Oh, and it will end.  Verse 51 tells us “We’re not all going to die—but we are all going to be changed.”  Remember, He is coming back, and we don’t know when.  So be ready. Be ready for the change.
Let’s conclude with verses 57 and 58:
“But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!”
With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.
Amen.
Can you feel my excitement?  I hope you are too.
Have a blessed day.
