Today’s scriptures were another set of those verses that I could just camp on all day, reread, and “marinate” in (as my dear friend and associate pastor, Tommy Warnock, often says).  I love God’s word!
One of the many lessons that God reminded me of today is that sometimes we are put in difficult situations that may even put us flat on our back.  But He may do so that we have no place to look but up.  We must totally rely on Him.
In Psalms 107:28 we read, “They were in trouble, so they called to the Lord for help, and he saved them from their troubles.”  In the scene read, there were sailors who were out to sea due to work. God had commanded a storm to rise up and toss the sea about.  When this frightening weather happened the sailors cried out to God.  They had to turn to Him.  When they did, He calmed the storm and they were happy and were led safely to land.  Verses 31 and 32 say, “So thank God for His marvelous love, for His miracle mercy to the children He loves.  Lift high your praises when the people assemble, shout Hallelujah”.
In 2 Corinthians 1:9, it echoed the theme above.  Paul says, “In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.
RememberGod is in control.  You’ve heard me journal about his time and time again, but here’s another reminder for you today….We often go through situations in life that we don’t particularly like.  When you are in it, stop and think about how God can receive the glory in the end of it all.  Know that He is with you.  He wants you to turn to Him and call out His name.  When all is said and done, praise Him.  Thank God for seeing you through it, making you stronger, using you to bring glory to Him, and know that someone just may be watching you through it all and giving their life to Christ because of what you experienced and how you trusted God.
Blessings to you!
