Be refreshed in God like snow in the summer.

The past few days I’ve been in a funk. I’m not quite sure why.  But for whatever the reason may be, I know God will pull me out of it and His glory will shine in the end.
But, now as I’m typing this, God is reminding me of the stillness He has given to me during this time too.  Seriously, He made me recall the two times this weekend He allowed me to be still and rest on the beach.  God reminded me of the sunsets I witnessed over the Gulf of Mexico that took my breath away.  He evoked in my mind the magnificence of the meteor shower that I saw while snuggled up in a blanket in an adirondack chair around midnight this past Saturday night. Whew! God is good!  He makes us “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalms 46:10.
Just now, God revived my spirit. “Thank You, God.”
Today’s scriptures were all wonderful, but I wasn’t feeling led to any specific verse(s) to journal about.  The one that did stick in my mind was Proverbs 25:13, “Trustworthy messengers refresh like snow in summer. They revive the spirit of their employer.” This verse made me think about our trip to Oregon this past summer.
Here it was in mid July, wearing shorts, and what do we see? Snow! What a delight!  We got out of our car and played in the summer sun with SNOW.  Now, to some of you, this may not be unusual, but to this Florida girl, the only thing white I’m usually putting between my hands to mold in the summer time is white sand.  It was a refreshing sight to see in the summer and gave us laughter and memories to capture.
Just like the Oregon snow this summer to this Florida girl, God’s stillness and quiet moments of reflection were and are refreshing, and they totally revived my spirit.
Are you in a funk? Be still and know that He is God.  Enjoy the miracles that God has for you each day.
(You just witnessed me being “defunked” while journaling.  Thank you for taking this journey with me each day as I read through the bible and journal about what God reveals to me and through me each day.)
Blessings to you.

One of the glorious sunsets God allowed me to exhale to this weekend.
