I love God’s word!  Yea, yea, there are times when I may not particularly like what It is saying because I feel like I’m getting in trouble for something I did.  But I clearly deserve the discipline in my life He provides to me, and am quite sure that I needed a good spanking from God for whatever I did, do, and will do.  God is a magnificent parent and I so adore Him.
Anyhow… When I was reading the scriptures this morning I highlighted four verses that made me smile (Hebrew 6:10 and 18, and Pslam 119:137 and 140). Then when I reread only those four verses again after typing them, it was evident to me that God was reiterating to me that He is the same God from the Old Testament as He is the New Testament.
In Psalm 119:137 we read “O Lord, you are righteous, and your regulations are fair.”  Then checkout what Hebrews 6:10 said, “God is not unjust”.  See, “Jesus, the Messiah, is the same yesterday and today-and forever!”  Hebrews 13:8. He is honorable and His word stands forever. Psalm 119:89, “Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” 1 Peter 1:25, “but the word of the Lord stands forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.”
In the other two verses we read:

Hebrews 6:18, “it is impossible for God to lie”

Psalm 119:140, “Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.”

Amen!  God doesn’t lie and what He says is and has been proven to be true.
Thinking about how that verse says “Your promises have been thoroughly tested”, a book I would like to encourage you to read (besides the bible, of course) is Lee Strobel’s The Case for Christ .  It is a phenomenal read.  Lee Strobel used to be an atheist until he went on a search to prove that God isn’t real.  What he discovered changed his life forever.
“Thank You, Lord, for Your truth and everlasting love. Like the line from the movie “The Help”, “You is kind, You is smart, You is important.” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZimx1wHYcs ).You are more than life to me.  Amen.”
Blessings to you.
