Will you say "Yes, sir."?

“Then he said, “Son of man, get all these words that I’m giving you inside you. Listen to them obediently. Make them your own. And now go. Go to the exiles, your people, and speak. Tell them, ‘This is the Message of God, the Master.’ Speak your piece, whether they listen or not.” Ezekial 3:10-11.
The scene that surround these words spoken by God and given to Ezekial was something you may see out of a sci-fi movie.  I’m grateful that today God isn’t appearing to me surrounded by four headed, winged and wheeled creatures (read Ezekial 1-3 on your own).  All I have to do is open His God-breathed word (the bible) and listen to Him.  If He did appear that way to me now with those instructions I believe my wide-eyed response would be, “Yes sir.” But, shouldn’t it still be “Yes sir.”?  Hummm….Yes!
When I read the words of Ezekial 3:10-11 it reminded me of a couple things.  One, a parent/teacher speaking to a rebellious child/student.  I can recall numerous times when someone told me to do something, but my stubborn self heard them speaking, but still did what I wanted to do. Are our children (or us) sometimes the same way?  Just asking.
My second thought dealt with my journey with journaling for this website. I pray each morning for God to speak to me and through me.  I want Him to use me to share His word with others, often in a day-to-day life kind of experienced way.  Now whether people read or not, at least I’ve tried to put God’s word out there for all.
Okay, let’s apply some scripture here:
We should do like Jeremiah says in Jeremiah 42:3, “Pray that the LORD your God will show us what to do and where to go.”  Pray and listen.
In Romans 10:14 it says, “But before people can pray to the Lord for help, they must believe in Him. And before they can believe in the Lord, they must hear about Him. And for anyone to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them.”  Who will tell them?  Will you?
I believe we should and are instructed to. In Mark 16:15 we (yes, disciples of Christ) are told to: “As you go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to everyone.” Wherever you go tell others about Christ.  Show God’s love to others through your actions. Don’t be ashamed to speak up and tell someone about what He has done for you and that He loves them.
So…will you take it a step further and not just think about doing it but do as Isisah 6:8 says, “Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”  Will you say “Here I am, God.  I’ll do it!” to God?
I pray that you will be bold in your walk with and talk about Christ, no matter if anyone listens or not.
Blessings to you.
