Those who work their land will have abundant food,
but those who chase fantasies have no sense.
Proverbs 12:11
When I read this verse it reminded me of my daughter’s goals in life.  She has them, and they’re great!  But paving the way to reach those goals seems a bit sketchy right now.
When you probe into her “fantasy future” you see glimpses of: surfing, beach days, writing, photography, travel, history, etc. It sounds to me like she needs to work for a travel channel or a travel magazine.  Go for it, girl!  Let someone else pay for you to travel and live your dream.
Then when you start talking about, “How are you going to pay for your travels?” or “What are you going to major in college?”, the conversation just resorts back to the end result with little details about the “how to get there”.  Holly has a passion for what she desires to become, she will just need to figure out how to reach them.
I read Proverbs 12:11 to her today and referenced it to her goals in life.  I stressed how her ambitions aren’t just going to happen; she needs to work hard to achieve the life she wants.  She proceeded to inform me that “Moooommmm, I have a plan.”
You know…Holly has a feeling as to what she wants to do in life, and God definitely has a plan for her.  I have faith that God will reveal to her His plan.  Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Ahhh, I just hope Holly remembers her mom when she out traveling the world and takes me along with her sometime.
Have you goals! Dream!  Work hard! Pray! Achieve!  Believe!  Be happy. Do what you love doing!
Blessings to you.
