About ten years ago Tim had given me a necklace for Mother’s Day.  It has three diamonds to represent my three children and The Trinity. The other day I thought I had lost my necklace.  Well, I did lose it.
My mind was racing trying to remember when the last time I wore it was.  I knew it had to be in one of three places where I mostly would have put it after taking it off.  Like a private investigator on a mission, I proceeded to casually check the three most likely locales where my necklace would be.  After three strikes, my heart started racing.  Panic was trying to overcome me.  Determination set in and the adrenaline pumped up.   “I CANNOT LOSE THIS NECKLANCE!”  I was thinking.  It was a gift with special importance.
I looked in every little crevice near the locations that the necklace should have been.  Nothing!  Nada!  Nulla!  Serious? Where did I put this necklace?  But I was NOT giving up.
Then, a sparkle caught my eye.  I blinked my eyes as if to focus.  As I moved closer to the top of the mantle in my bedroom, and the figure became clearer.  MY NECKLACE!!  I breathed a great sigh of relief, did a little happy dance, and put it in its proper jewelry spot.
This is exactly what Jesus does when one of His lost children come home.
Today I was reading Luke 15:1-10.  The two parables (The Parable of the Lost Sheep and The Parable of the Lost Coin) reminded me of my recent “lost” event.
Jesus is NOT giving up on finding any of His “lost sheep”.  Well, He actually knows where you are, He is just waiting for and wanting you to return to Him.
Once you’re back in His arms, Jesus will breathe a great sigh of relief, do a little happy dance, and be grateful that you are in your proper spot.
Blessings to you.
