Paul and Barnabas.  Stephanie and Holly.  Similarity?  Just being sent.
We do need some prayers.  PLEASE.
As you may recall Holly and I are Alabama Bound! (May 19th journal entry.) It is all a God thing I know. I KNOW! But lately I’ve been feeling a bit like Jonah.
All this mission trip planning took place before our June 3rd incident.  Since that date, we have been non-stop with activities.  Vacation? Yes.  But lots of unexpected, in-between activities that one deals with after the death of a loved one: the selling of one home, the purchasing and moving in with another home, and going through all the personal belongings of your new Heavenly angel.  Yikes!  Time just keeps going, whether we want to slow it down or not.
This past Sunday night the Alabama team was commissioned (prayed upon to be sent out) during the evening church service.  I told our team leader, Will, that Holly and I need some prayer.  My heart WAS in it, but lately I just want to slow down and stay home. This is where I started feeling like Jonah.  I just wanted to run from what God had led us to do.  I know to know that we will be blessed by going to be a blessing to others.  This trip is so needed in our lives right now.  It’s just my heart, Holly’s either, just isn’t fully in it.
I mentioned to Will that I want Holly and I to be completely sold (souled) out for God regarding this trip.
In Acts 13:2 it says, “…the Holy Spirit said to them, “Appoint Barnabas and Saul to do a special work for me. They are the ones I have chosen to do it.”  I so need to feel the Holy Spirit speaking to us both saying, “I choose Stephanie and Holly to do a special work for Me.  They are the ones I have chosen to do it.”  Yes!  Whatever “special work” God has planned, no matter how big or small, I desire for God’s will to be done.
Would staying home be the easy thing to do?  You bet!  We’d get a lot accomplished for my father-in-law, get some surfing in the Atlantic done, and maybe a Sea World trip too.  But that doesn’t sound quite like what God had planned for us to do.
Run-away Jonah or the dynamic duo of Paul and Barnabas?  My mind is perplexed, but my heart tells me now to GO!
We covet your prayers, not for just Holly and me, but for the entire team and the individuals who we will come in contact with.  THANK YOU!
Blessings and God’s abundant love to y’all!
