We’ve heard of the phrases, “Actions speak louder than words.” Or “Walk the walk, don’t just talk the talk.”  Well, this seemed to be the theme that God reminded me of when I read all four books of scripture this morning.  Check it out:

  • When I read Psalms I was reminded how God doesn’t even have to say a word to get His powerful point across.  We can just observe and really appreciate the glorious creations in nature that He simply made.
  • In the verses I read today in Proverbs, it was not the verbal conversation that got the message out.  It was the action of seeing, hearing, and giving.
  • 1 Corinthians 4:20 says, God’s Way is not a matter of mere talk; it’s an empowered life.
  • I always have to laugh when I read Job’s response to his friend in Job 13:5.  He says, “If only you could be silent! That’s the wisest thing you could do.”

God led by example by simply, for Him, creating (doing/action) without uttering a word.
We need to follow God’s example and open our eyes to try to see how He sees, listen and be attentive to the needs of others, and give to others to bring peace and serenity.
When you invited Christ into your life, He empowered you with Himself.  Show others Christ through your actions.  Make sure your actions and conversations are aligned with the spirit-filled life that you have through Him.
And remember the words or Job…sometimes the wisest thing we can do is be silent.  Sometimes our mouths get to running too fast, and we often speak before we think about how it will come across or affect someone.  Just don’t allow your godly actions to be quiet.  Let them speak volumes without saying a word.
Blessings to you all!

Holly wasn't a girl of many words on our mission trip to Alabama, but her actions spoke volumes. I was, and am, so proud of her.
