I have a feeling that my friend, Jeff, will appreciate this journal entry.  He is the “head-honcho” of our school’s Outdoors Club/Recycling/The Green Team.
In Psalms 115:16 it says, “The heavens belong to the Lord, but He has given the earth to all humanity.”  God has given us so many precious gifts.  To name the greatest gift, it would be His Son, Jesus Christ.  But we read from the first book in the bible, Genesis chapter 1, that God created everything on earth, and He made us in charge over it all. But wait…He didn’t just make it and make us rulers over it, He made it and it was GOOD.  News flash…God doesn’t make junk.
We need to take care of what God has given to us.  The land and waters…We need to take pride in these precious creations.
As you can observe from the various pictures I use on this website, my family loves the outdoors.  We love to be out in the woods, hunting or just hiking the hills.  We love to fish and enjoy all that the waters have to offer.  God has provided such a beautiful foundation for us, but we have been given the responsibility to care for it.
It saddens when I see litter on the ground, in the waters, and even congregating around people’s homes.  I know that when I give gifts to my children and notice that if they haven’t taken care of it, my heart aches a little because I know I gave it to them with them specifically in mind, and they didn’t care for it the way it should have been taken care of.  Hmmm, God created the earth, with us specifically in mind to enjoy and care for.  Don’t you think He gets a bit bummed when He witnesses how we have decimated parts of His precious gift?
Let’s take care of and pride in God’s creation.  Let’s not take our responsibility flippantly.  Keep our earth beautiful.  Lend a helping hand to others.  Make a difference.
Blessings and God’s abundant love to y’all.
