Creating things with your hands can be so rewarding.  Remember those days you played with Play-Doh?  The squishiness between your fingers and the creations you created were often satisfying.  And when you didn’t like what you created, you just simply pounded it or squished it down and started over.
When I was young, I would go to a ceramics class with my mom.  We didn’t create the design that we were working with, but we gently whittled away the rough marks and carefully chose the colors to use on the various objects we painted. That fact that we were working with something between our hands gave a sense of satisfaction and control of the outcome.
In Jeremiah 18:1-17 we read about how God is the Potter and we are the clay.  Knowing that I am in His hands gave me comfort.  In verse 6b it says, “As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand.”  Peace just rushes over me when I read that verse having complete confidence in the One who holds me.
God created us.  We may dirty His hands sometimes, but I sure hope He doesn’t pound or squish me like He illustrated in verses 3 and 4.  Yikes!   He can continue to whittle away at me and smooth my rough edges. I pray that God will have complete satisfaction in His creation in me and you.
He is in total control of our lives.  Rely on Him.
Blessings and God’s abundant love to y’all.
