I had know idea yesterday when Holly took this picture of me that I would use it on Soaking up The Son, but how appropriate! God knew!

You may not have missed my journaling, but I sure missed it and y’all.  Wi-fi connection wasn’t working, but I can’t complain about spending time soaking up The Son in the sun on Anna Maria Island.  Enjoy today’s thoughts:
I remember back after my third and final child was born, as soon as I got the okay to start exercising, I did.  I felt great! That was probably the best shape I had been in since the whole birthing-production started. When my body was in shape it gave me confidence and endurance in various tasks.  I’m pretty sure my husband was proud of the way I kept myself in shape too.
But now…I have no excuse, why bother trying to make one up and talk about how I get up early, study, prepare for the day, work, come home, and by the time I settle down after home chores it’s time for bed. I could truly make staying fit a priority. I should. Coulda, shoulda, woulda…I just need to do it!
Do you need a personal trainer? (It sure sounds like I do.) Well, I hear there is a great one.  He won’t only tone your body, but your spirit and soul as well. They say that he is dependable and can make you whole.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 Paul writes his final letter of encouragement to the believers. He says:

  • “May God Himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If He said it, He’ll do it!”

God doesn’t just care about your spiritual health, but your body and soul as well.  He is coming back for us one day soon, and we need to be ready and help others prepare for that day too.
Just like I mentioned that my confidence and endurance increased after working out my body years ago, the same can be said for when we work out our spiritual side.  Stay spiritually fit by praying continuously, studying His word, and just doing what 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says to do:

  • 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually,18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

It is often hard to do, but like the saying goes, “No pain, no gain.”  Give God all the glory through all the pain (physically and spiritually).
Need a trainer? God’s the One!
Blessings and God’s abundant love to y’all.
