Grateful and beyond grateful!
Throughout this weekend I have prayed for and pondered on the many men and women who serve our country.  I am indebted to them for their daily sacrifice for keeping my country, The United States of America (!), free. Thank you! I thank you and your families.
How appropriate for today’s scripture reading to come from Hebrews 8:7-9:14. On a day we set aside to honor those who serve our country and fight for our freedom, these verses tell the story of the new and old covenant beautifully.  The New Covenant being my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the one who offered the ultimate sacrifice.
Jesus shed His blood for you and me.  He died so that we can be free.  Free from sin and self.  He rose again so that we can live forever with Him.
So surely the blood sacrifice of Christ can do much more. Christ offered himself through the eternal Spirit as a perfect sacrifice to God. His blood will make us completely clean from the evil we have done. It will give us clear consciences so that we can worship the living God. Hebrews 9:14
Thank you, veterans, for your sacrifice for my earthly freedom in my country.  Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice for my eternal freedom.
Blessings and God’s abundant love to all.
