As I lie in bed this morning, on my left I could hear the ocean waves via the Ambiance app on the iPhone.  On my right, I could faintly hear the ocean waves via the real Atlantic Ocean just outside the window. I had a choice, I could lie in the comfy bed and feel relaxed listening to a recorded ocean, or I could get out of my comfort zone, bundle up in a blanket (it’s a windy, yet sunny, 46 degrees), and go out on the balcony to inhale the fresh salty air and observe the ocean first hand.
After about five minutes of me contemplating what to do, while snuggled up in a comfortable bed, I proceeded outside to the real deal.
This scene reminded me of how we often are in our Christian lives.  We can be comfortable in how our lives are proceeding, but God never said that being a Christian was going to be a “comfy life”.  When I was sitting in the Adirondack chair outside, I was reminded how real and powerful God is.
When I stepped out of my comfy bed, I could feel the wind, see the power of the ocean, and hear the majestic sound of the crashing waves.
When we step out of our comfort zone in life, that’s when we can truly experience the majestic power of God with all our senses.
If you have a decision to make in your life, first of all, pray it up to God, read His word, and wait for Him to guide you in your decision. Secondly, don’t get scared if you are guided to step out of your comfort zone, if that is the direction God is leading you.  You will experience a realness and the power of God as never before.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
