Hebrews 12:11, “We don’t enjoy discipline when we get it. It is painful. But later, after we have learned our lesson from it, we will enjoy the peace that comes from doing what is right.”
Today was “Ab Intervals” day for my workout routine.  While exercising I could feel the burn, and I loved it!  I was glad I was feeling the burn/good-pain because that meant that I was going to have some good results in the end and that I was doing the right thing.
Some things I discovered today were:

  • My hands are weak.  When it was time to plank (which wasn’t as bad a s yesterday’s planking), the bottom portion of my palms were uncomfortable.  Maybe I needed a good floor mat instead of just a towel, or maybe I’m positioning my weight wrong.  Whatever it the case may be, if any of you exercising gurus have any suggestions, please send them my way.
  • I like doing the “Superman”.  While “Supermanning” I had a smile come to my face thinking about how I love the real Superman, God.  He is awesome!  Isaiah 41:10b reads, “I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Yep, God will hold us up and we will feel free.
  • Staying focused on the little things helps the big thing.  Huh?  Okay, so when I’m focusing on sucking this area in, or tightening this muscle, or lifting this part of the body, I know that that specific focus will assist in the whole process of building a better body.  We as Christians need to remember that we do NOT need to do it all on our own.  We are part of a body of Christ.  It’s okay to say “Not at this time” to some “good” things if we are already working on another project.  God has equipped each of us with unique gifts and talents.  Romans 12:4-5 says, “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.”  Stay focused on your gift, and help build the Body of Christ stronger.
