Here I was sitting outside, looking over the Atlantic Ocean, waiting for the sun to rise, and reading God’s Word.  What a wonderful way to start a day!
In Mark 16:1-4 1Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of Jesus, and Salome went out and purchase burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body.  2Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise (yes, I smiled here) they went to the tomb.
3On the way they were asking each other, ‘Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?’  4But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside.”  I had to stop and reread verse three and ponder at the thought of “How often is this us?  We get so excited about a plan and just take off and we don’t think it all the way through.”
Did you catch that as well?  Here were three women who woke up very early, on their way to massage some oil on Jesus, and then was like, “Hmmm, who’s gonna roll that massive obstacle away that will be there?”
We could look at this in couple ways:  1) We need to plan things thoroughly before we set off for our destination.  Or (2) Go in faith and God will handle all your obstacles if you are following His plan.
Boy is the second option often difficult for us because that means that we are relinquishing control to God, and it can be scary. If you choose this option, jump in in faith and allow God to do His work.  That is how it worked out for those three ladies in verse four.  God had already removed the massive obstacle.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
