We have a choice.
I’ve been on both sides of the coin on this subject a time or two in my life.  When I choose to celebrate in others’ successes, my heart feels lighter yet full of joy.  When I’ve chosen to be envious of one’s success, bitterness and resentment build up, and I just don’t like the way I feel.
I love the subtitle to the verse from Romans 12:9-16  “Love in Action”, and I choose to live this way:
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.  14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
God instructs us to rejoice and mourn for/with others, not to rejoice in their failures and mourn in their successes.
I hope you choose to have your heart full of “Love in Action”, and not heavy in “Envy in Action”.
Do you need an attitude adjustment?  Pray it up to, give it up to, and live it up with God.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessing for y’all.
