And the multitudes were standing, looking for his return. The crowd went wild with clapping, hollering, whistles, and great joy filled the place when he finally returned.
You may think this is a scene out of the Book of Revelations, but nope. However, I did think about His Second Coming when this occurrence took place.
Last night I went to a Zac Brown Band concert. We all had a blast! I think I danced either in my seat or standing up the entire performance.
While we were waiting on Zac and his band to return for their encore’, you could feel the excitement all around. The audience was filled with energized anticipation. Then when they did return, well…you read above first paragraph.
I thought about how that’s how we Christians should be while we are awaiting Christ’s return. We need to be filled with excitement and great anticipation! And, oh what a glorious that will be!!
- “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass a way with a roar” 2 Peter 3:10a
- The concert crowds may have been roaring for more of Zac, but what a day it will be when we hear the great roar from the heavens.
- “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
- This sure sounds like one concert I definitely will not miss out on.
- “Look, Jesus is coming with the clouds! Everyone will see Him, even those who pierced Him. All peoples of the earth will cry loudly because of Him. Yes, this will happen! Amen.” Revelation 1:7
- Yes! This WILL happen! Amen!!!
