DCIM133GOPROI know I’ve said it before, but here I go again…God is sooo cool!
This morning I prayed for all of you. I prayed for His words to be spoken through me in a way that will touch someone’s life to grow closer in knowledge and more in love with Jesus Christ.  And then, I turned to God’s word and read Philippians 1:3-11.  What?  This was my prayer!  (Well, sort of, and then some) Look:
Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. You share with me the special favor of God, both in my imprisonment and in defending and confirming the truth of the Good News. God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus. I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. 11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.
Okay, so I did:

  • Give thanks to God for you
  • Pray that you have joy, love, and knowledge for Him more

I have not been “imprisoned” the way the Paul had been, but you do all share in God’s grace with me on this journey of life.
Many of you have been with me since the beginning of my journaling publicly. THANK YOU!
I just looked and this is the 901 journal entry for Soaking Up The Son.  What??!!  This journey began back in the beginning of 2012.  After many years of others encouraging me to write a book, I decided to ask on Facebook about someone helping create a blog (baby steps).  A precious lady, and dear friend, Karen Hurst, responded right away to my request.  She helps others create web designs, and I just wanted to write and have someone else help in the creation side of it all.  Yeah for Karen!
Well, my heart has still been tossing around and praying about the idea of writing some type of book, but while my intent is on sharing Jesus with others, my thoughts often become a bit “squirrelly”. Plus, I do have to wonder, “Would anyone really read it?”  I don’t feel worthy.  Then, that’s when God gently reminds me, “Sister, don’t be a Moses and try to find excuses for Me not to use you.  I’ve chosen you.  Go.”  Yeah! Yikes! Really?
This is where I need you!
As I come before God on bended knees, He reminds me that 1) it’s NOT about me, 2) I have a wonderful support group in all of YOU, 3) I am HIS tool, 4) and if this is His will, it WILL happen. This truly does scare me, but with God all things are possible.
So, I am asking for some, any, all of you to do something for me to be a tool for God as well in this endeavor:

  • Will you PLEASE first of all pray for and with me?
  • Read through the journal entries and let me know your favorite ones? This is not a request that I need an immediate response for. For goodness sake, that’s 900 entries to read. Take your time. Maybe two or three at a time or a read a month’s worth over a few days. I’ve set up an email account for you to respond to with the date and title of the entry: [email protected].  You may like one or tons. That’s up to you. I’d love to even hear your thoughts on some. I can’t wait to see what touched you.
  • In Philippians 1:5 it says, “for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ”. Yes! You are an integral part of this ministry. If you like an entry, please share it with others, subscribe, “like” it on Facebook or the website. Please know that this is NOT about me, but definitely about sharing God’s word in a way that hopefully relates to our everyday lives. I can’t stress that enough. It it’s about me, then I’d be completely stressed.

Thank you. I appreciate your thoughts, prayer, love, and support.  If a book by this little girl is what God wants, God will get it.  If it’s not, then that’s fine as well.
1 John 2:16-17, For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”
Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Proverbs 19:21, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”
Okay, are you with me?
I just love and appreciate you all. Know that you are prayed for today.
I pray God’s abundant love and blessings for y’all.
Remember, please respond to [email protected]
