god's got your back“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.
Ahhh, yes!  I needed this familiar reminder from God today.
I’ve been tossing and turning an assortment of emotions in my mind regarding my occupation.  I absolutely love to teach, but it just seems that with various factors and demands from the higher-ups, the “love” that I once had for my job is being sucked right out of me.  I hear it, see it, and even feel it from students, teachers, and parents, that I’m not alone.
I’m not going to get on my soap box right now.  I want to be a Barnabas for anyone else who is not “feeling the love” from whatever you are doing in your life at this moment.
Friends, God’s got this!  But just like anything in life…if you want to get something out of it, you’ve got to put something into it.
Reread Jeremiah 29:11-13.  This time from The Message translation:
The Lord says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 12 When you call on Me, when you come and pray to Me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for Me, you’ll find Me. Yes, when you get serious about finding Me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”
Did you see what you need to do?

  • Call out and pray to God.
  • Go looking for Him.
  • Get serious about finding Jesus.
  • Want Him more than anything else!

Here’s what God will do in return:

  • He’ll listen to you.
  • He’ll be found by you.
  • He will make sure that you won’t be disappointed.

Why?  Because He can handle anything!  He knows exactly what He’s doing.  We may not, but God does.  God desires to:

  • Take care of us.
  • Never leave us.
  • Give us a future that we hope for.

Now, doesn’t that just put a smile on your face just knowing that He is in control and not you or any of those “higher-ups”?  (He is “higher” than any man.) I know, I know, it doesn’t always feel or seems that way (remember that “soap box” will come another day). Please just focus on doing your part that is mentioned above and watch what happens.  Try it.  Start now…seek and desire Christ with all your heart, please Him and not man, and watch how your day will go a little smoother than the day before.
Oh, sure, Satan will try to knock you down.  When you feel that happening, just look up, smile, and know that God’s got your back.
I pray many blessings and much joy for you! Have a wonderful day. – Stephanie
