Love Him first and everything else will fall into place.
There are times when I just don’t know what to say to God, so I simply just say, “I love you, Lord!”
When I say those four little words a few of things happen. Either: my mind opens up with all the blessings that God has given to me; my thoughts rush with what trial He has just seen me through; I have the urge to tell others what He has done for me; or sigh a relief and rest in Him knowing those words are enough.
It sounds like David did the same thing when God saved him from his enemies in Psalm 18. But, David didn’t simply rest in knowing that those words were enough, he created a song and sang it for all to hear and did a little bit of all of the above.
What about you? Do you need to say the words that David and I say “I love you, Lord! You are my strength.” Psalm 18:1? Go for it, and watch what happens next.
